Fashion Design Trends For the Decades Ahead
The 21st century will probably see a new onslaught of fashion design trends set by the upcoming fashion icons. Paris Hilton is already making an impact with her ‘How Do I Get Away?’ clothing line and Tom Cruise have been in the news for his ‘infomercial on cruise’ days as well as for filming one of the biggest fashion shows of all time. Celebrity fashion designers have been getting into the act too, with the likes of Sir Elton John and Kate Moss having released their own lines, while more traditional fashion designers such as Sir Hardy Amies are showing interest in offering more youthful styles. So what will be the fashion trends of the next year?
If it is down to pure fashion, then there will be no real trends. However, with the introduction of celebrity influence, there will be plenty of ‘one-size-fits-all’ styles, meaning that fashion will more about copying the looks of the people you love. Influential style will always be there, but this year might see a real push for youthful fashion – especially for women. Lowlights, oversized cardigans and baggy jeans are all things that are being worn by the female population this season. This will be reflected in the fashion design trends for the next few years too, so it will be interesting to watch how these things evolve over the next few years.
New designs will definitely influence the way that fashion is worn, but these fashion design trends are not set in stone. Whilst having a great body shape will certainly attract the eye of many women, having a great face may not. It is unpredictable, so fashion designers are always at risk of producing something a little out of the ordinary, but that will still appeal to a wide audience. The key is to keep up with the current trends, but go with something that is totally different, rather than just following one after the other.
